January Update

January went by so fast for me.  I can't beleive it's already February.

It was sad to lose Grandma Rogers the first of January but it was nice to get to spend another week with Scott and Sandra while they were here for the funeral.  Sandra grew up in Peru and she had never seen snow until she married Scott and came to visit Utah.  We were so sad because there was minimal amount of snow over Christmas while they were here so when we found out they were going to be able to come back home for the funeral we were so excited because we had a little bit more snow.  We took her sledding for her first time.  She was so scared, but she did great.  I am not sure she had as much fun as we did, but she did say she would go again so she must have had a little bit of fun.  She is so fun, I love her so much!!

We took some pictures after the funeral, we were sad because Nicole had to go home with thier kids since their babysitter couldn't stay all day.  It would have been fun to have her in the picture with us.  Hopefully next time Sandra is here we can get a picture of the four of us.

Zac has never had a suit before and he really wanted one to wear to Grandma's funeral.  So, we went and got him a suit and he looked SO GOOD!!  I think he looks good all the time, but he definately looks HOT in his suit : )
After the funeral we went and spent the evening up at my parents house and played games.  The boys helped Grandma make dinner and bake brownies.  I am so grateful for my parents and the relationship they have with my boys.  They are the best grandparents ever!!  It was nice to get to spend a lot of time together as a family while we remember Grandma.  Family is what makes this life worth living.

This last snow storm we got about 18 inches of snow in one night.  Justin and Nicole called and said they wanted to go sledding so we all went after Tegan got out of school.  Thanks to my mom for watching THREE babies 18 months and younger so we could go and have a good time.  I was sad because my battery died, but these are a few pics from the fun day.  It was so much fun!!

Beckem cheesing as always.  He loves animals especially our dog Boba.

We went out and visited Grandma and Grandpa Thomas and Kyson just snuggled right up to Grandpa the whole time.  He has a big heart for the elderly.

The other day Boden was sitting in the high chair while I was making dinner and he didn't even make a peep.  After a little while I looked over at him and found him like this.  It was so cute.  He hardly ever crys, and is always content with whatever his is doing.  I guess he got pooped out sitting up.  : )  He is such a GOOD baby!!

We will miss you grandma. . .

This beautiful lady returned home to our Father in Heaven on Thursday Jan. 10, 2013.  I am so grateful for the chance we had to go see her on Wednesday, the day before she passed away.  It was so crazy, when I was watching Kyson say goodbye I just knew in my heart it was the last time we would see her and I am pretty sure he knew as well.  The way he layed on her for a few minutes while she cried and held him and he had tears in his eyes and then the multiple trips to the door and back to her to tell her that he loved her while he put his head on her weak shoulder was just so touching!! It was like he did not want to say goodbye.

Saying goodbye to my grandma was one of the many times Kyson has melted my heart this past week.

On Thursday night I had to go to work for a few hours and before I left for work my parents called and told me that grandma was not doing very good, she was not really responding to anything.  Before I left for work I knelt down by Kyson and told him that grandma might go back with Jesus tonight.  He just got serious and looked down at the ground and said, "why mom" and I told him she was hurting really bad and was pretty sick.  I then reminded him that it's okay if she passes away tonight because she would be back in Heaven with my grandpa and Paul and be out of pain.  Kyson so sweetly looked at me and said, "when she is done with Jesus and Paul will she come back to play with us"  My heart just hurt for him because I know how much she means to him.

When my mom called me at work to tell me that she was gone my heart just broke.  I did not want to tell Kyson.  Zac called me right after my mom and I told him the news and he told the boys.  I talked with Kyson on the phone and this was our conversation,
Kyson: "mom, grandma is up with Jesus and now I am sad"
Me: (my heart hurt so bad for him and I started to cry) "I know Kyson, I am sorry I am sad too"
Kyson: "why are you crying??"
Me: "because I am sad and miss grandma too"
Kyson: "mom, I don't want those babies at your work to think you are being a baby.  Wipe those tears off your face and be happy.  You hear me mom, be happy"
Me: (I couldn't help but laugh) "okay Kyson, I will be happy"
Kyson: "okay mom, we don't want people to think we are babies"
Oh I love this kid so much!!  He just knows exactly what to say and when to say it to melt my heart!!

The next morning Kyson woke me up and the first thing he said was, "mom, grandma is up with Jesus now" I said, "yeah but you know what, if you ever miss grandma you can say a prayer and remember she is always right here in your heart" and i pointed to his heart.  His response was, "she's in my heart?? well what if she got into my throat and I swallowed her, then she would be in my tummy"  Once again, I just giggled.

Every since she has passed away the only thing Kyson says in his nightly prayers is bless grandma.  One night all he said was "Heavenly Father, please bless grandma and help her come back to life in the name of Jesus Christ Amen"  I just started to cry.  I had to then explain to him that she is never coming back but one day we will get to see her again.

Today we went over to my mom's house and my mom has a table of pictures of our grandparents.  Kyson just stood in front of my grandmas picture and looked at if for a few minutes. I wish I could have read what was going through his mind, but I know that he holds a very special place in his heart for her.

I am so grateful for the knowledge I have in this gospel and I know without a doubt that I will see her again one day.  I am so happy she is pain free now and happy.  I already miss her so much though.  I am so grateful for the joy and happiness Kyson has brought to me during this hard time.  I love my boys so much and the strength they give me!!  I am not sure why Kyson had such a special connection with my grandma but I love to think that she will be his angel the rest of his life.  We love you so much grandma and you will be missed tons!!

Random pics of fun times lately

Beckem got this hat and backpack for Christmas from Nana and Papa and he LOVES to wear it around.  He looks so cute with his little backpack.  I love that he LOVES to try to be as big as his brothers.
I came home from work the other day and these three had their basketball shorts and hats on (yes it is winter and they LOVE to wear their shorts).  They were so excited to show me that they all matched and they told me they all look like cool dudes : )  I love them!!
Beckem LOVES his baby brother.  I love to watch these two, Beckem has to know where Bo is at all times and Bo gets the biggest smile on his face when he sees his brothers.
We are so lucky, he is such a good baby.  He is always smiling with his cute dimples : )

We got a huge snow storm last week so the boys and Zac went outside and built an igloo.  The boys were so excited!! I went out to play but I only lasted long enough to get some pictures, I HATE being cold.

Grandma's Special Boy

My grandma has not been doing very good and has now been put on Hospice.  We went out two days before Christmas to see her, but then all the kids got sick so we haven't been out since.

Today we decided we needed to go visit her.  I told Kyson, "after Tegan gets out of school we are going to go visit Grandma Rogers" and he said, "Mom is she getting ready to go back to Jesus" It brought tears to my eyes because he has always had such a special place in his heart for her and cares so much for her.  I explained to him that she might and it's okay because then she would no longer be in so much pain.  (She has a sore on her leg that the tendon is showing, : ( and she is in quite a bit of pain from it).

When we got there to see her, her sister had just gotten there to visit as well.  We told the boys they needed to go downstairs to play.  Kyson asked if he could just stand at Grandma's feet and be by her.  I told him he could but he needed to be very quite so she could visit with her sister.  So he stood there for quite a while and grandma and her sister visited.  When her sister left I went over and held her hand and told her we wanted to come check on her and Kyson wanted to come see her and she just started to cry.  I told her that he has a special place in his heart for her and she just cried and said, "I know, I have a special place in my heart for him too"  By this time Kyson was downstairs playing with Tegan and Beckem and it was time for us to leave.  Tegan got his shoes on and went over and told her goodbye.  Zac took Beckem and Tegan out to the car while I helped Kyson get his shoes on.  Kyson walked over and said to me, "mom, I want to sit by grandma" I told him there was not a lot of room by her but he could stand by her.  He went over to her side and layed his head down on her and she just held him and started to cry.  They sat like this for a few minutes and grandma just cried and said, "this is my special boy, you are so special to me"  It was so sweet.  After Kyson stood up and I told him it was time to leave he kept going to the door and then back over to grandma to give her a few more loves before he left and he just kept saying, "I love you grandma"
Kyson has such a special compasionate heart for her and it is so tender to see.  I don't know what is going to happen with my grandma, but I am so grateful we were able to go out today to visit.

Merry Christmas, Thomas Family Party and Frosting Cookies

Kids seriously make Christmas so FUN!!  The boys were so excited Christmas Eve.  Right before we went to bed Tegan told me, "mom, make sure you and dad shut your door when you go to bed because if you see Santa and he sees you then his magic will go away and we don't want to be the people responsible for his magic to be gone"  It was so cute, so we made sure to shut our doors.

The boys were so excited Christmas Eve and were being so naughty because of all their energy and we kept saying, you are being pretty naughty I bet you are going to get a lump of coal.  Well, at about 4:00 am Kyson came into our room and said, "MOM, I can't see all the presents but there is no lump of coal out there" he had so much excitment in his voice : ) It was so cute!!  He was right, there was no lump of coal, just fun toys and treats.  Beckem didn't care about anything except the stupid candy cane thing filled with candy.  He thought that was the best present ever.

Beckem and Boden were pretty sick on Christmas so that day was not so fun for them.  They still are so miserable, but I am hoping we are on the down slope.  It's hard to see your babies sick : (

In this picture you can see how sick Beckem and Boden look in their eyes : (  breaks my heart!!

Zac finally had his surgery four days before Christmas so he was a little painful as well, but we have been icing it and he has been keeping it elevated.  Just glad to have the surgery over with so he can start recoverying finally!!

In the middle of December we had the Thomas family party at our house.  He we are playing the annual bean game.  Gotta love it!!

My uncle Lynn is about 6' 7" and Beckem walked right over to him and put his arms up for him to hold him and when he picked him up Beckem just kept smiling so BIG, he loved uncle Lynn.
One night the elf had us frost christmas trees.  The boys had a blast going to town on their trees.

We had our annual sugar cookie frosting party at Grandma Thomas house. It's something we have done ever since we were little girls, I love getting together and laughing with these crazy nuts.

So Many Blessings

I can't believe the generosity of people.  I was so amazed at the special gift we first received previously, but the amazing story doesn't stop there.  About a week after that the bishop showed up to our house with a card and more money in it.  He said he was only the messenger and he wouldn't tell us who it was from.  Then a couple nights later someone knocked and I answered the door and there was a big box of food on our porch.  There was a spiral ham, potatoes, apples, oranges, and TONS more things.  Once again, we have no clue who did this generous act.  I am so GRATEFUL for these people and their generosity.  I just wish I could thank them for their kindness.  This is what Christmas is all about.  This has been the best Christmas ever and I want to give back to people for many years to come.   Happy Holidays and thanks to those special angels!!

A Christmas Miracle

Ever since Zac hurt his knee we have really been blessed in so many ways.  With Zac being unable to work for a total of a few months and the holidays just around the corner there have been many nights of tears shed from the stress of money, fatigue and stress.  Zac is amazing and always finds the good in situations.  When I have my breakdowns he takes me in his arms and reminds me to have faith.  He always reminds me that Heavenly Father hasn't let us down before and He isn't about to start.  We have had many small miracles come into our lives and everything so far has fallen into place.  My how my faith has been tried and strengthen so much this past month.

Something happened last night though that was beyond anything I could ever ask for. . . I was scheduled to work at 9 PM.  I came into work only to find out that there was a miscommunication and they didn't really need me at work.  I was so grateful to go home to be with my family (I have been working crazy hours to try to make ends meet, so any little bit of time I can be home I am so grateful for!!) I was about to walk out the door to head home when Zac called me.  He was very overwhelmed and had a hard time finding his words on the phone.  I told him I was being sent home and I would see him shortly.  When I got home he explained the situation to me and we both just started to cry tears of gratitude.

While I was on my way to work, Zac was out in the garage and heard someone knock on our front door.  He went inside to answer the door.  When he opened the door he found that someone had left a popcorn bucket with a card.  By the time Zac opened the door they were nowhere to be found.  Zac thought to himself, that was nice of someone to bring us a gift.  He brought the gift inside and proceeded to open the envelope.  As he opened the card he was shocked at what he found.  In the card they wrote, "please accept this gift from our families to yours with love" and lying in the card was a large amount of money.  We feel so inadequate and grateful that someone would do this for us.

Words can never describe the feelings that are in our hearts and the gratitude we feel!!  I wish so badly we could thank these people that were so generous!!  I hope somehow I can thank them or let them know seriously HOW GRATEFUL we are for their generosity!!  It was such an amazing feeling in our home last night.

As I was tucking the boys into bed they asked why we were crying.  I told them that someone was so amazing and brought us some money to help us and Kyson said, "mom, I bet it was Heavenly Father who brought it to us" and he was exactly right.  Heavenly Father sent angels to us last night and we will forever be grateful.  I hope I can one day be an angel for Heavenly Father as these people were tonight. Whom ever you are out there THANK YOU!!  I feel as though thank you is not enough and never will be enough to repay these people for what they have done for our family!!  GOD BLESS and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
