Camping in Idaho

For the past week we have been camping in Idaho. I feel bad for Zac because he had to put up with my grumpy butt for most of the time. I HATE being cold and I HATE staying in a tent with little kids, but thankfully Zac is a very patient man and put up with me and tried to find the good in it all. If you are wondering why the boys are dressed like it's winter in some of these pictures, it's because most mornings when we woke up it was around 27-30 something degrees. It was SO COLD and one day it rained ALL DAY and was freezing. Of course the day we left was perfect weather and was so warm. We found fun things to do though. We went fishing, Zac taught Tegan how to shoot a gun for the first time, enjoyed the campfire, went on a fun scavenger hunt that Aunt Brandje made up, played with the family and enjoyed the outdoors. Even though I was onery and it was a very cold trip it was still nice to be with my family.

One day we went fishing and while we were driving back to camp I told Zac he might as well stop at the next lake and fish for a little bit because the boys were asleep. So we went up to the next lake and I sat in the truck with the boys and Zac hiked down the trail to the lake. Not more than ten minutes later Zac came back to the truck. He told me that he threw in his second cast and he heard a noise behind him, he was wondering if it was Boba. He turned around to see what it was and about 20 yards away from him was a baby bear. He quickly reeled in his line and waited for the bear to cross the trail and headed back to the truck. When he told me what he saw I was so sad I didn't get to see it. We were driving away and trying to see if we could see it and then all the sudden it came running down the road right in front of us and then went down the hill on the side of the road. It was so cool to see. I am so grateful the mommy bear wasn't around to attack Zac though. He is lucky nothing happened to him. Zac has been waiting his whole life to see a bear up there, but he never imagined he would see it that close. Pretty cool but scary experience.

Tegan's Third Birthday

We celebrated Tegan's birthday a little early because we were going to be camping over his birthday. Tegan told us about a month ago that he wanted to sit in a firetruck for his birthday. I wasn't sure if they would let him sit in one, but we went over and asked North View Fire Dept. and they were so AWESOME!! They let him sit in the firetruck and they turned on the lights for him. When we went to leave they told him they had some treats for him. I thought they were just going to give him a candy treat but they actually gave him a fireman's hat, a firefighter bear, stickers and a badge. He LOVED it!! That night we had cake and ice cream. He kept saying he wanted a spider cake, so I made him a spider cake. He was so excited when he saw it. It was so cute, I told him we had to wait for everyone to come over to eat the cake and he said to me "I have to wait until my grandma sings me happy birthday, then she will clap and then I will blow out my candles and then we can eat the cake." So that is just what we did. : )

Tegan, you have grown up so much. We have loved watching you learn new things. We hope you had a good birthday. We love you tons!!

Summertime Fun

We are so excited it has finally warmed up. This last week we have been spending a lot of time in the pool outside. One night it was so windy, Zac had a great idea...he went downstairs and got out the kites and we flew kites in the backyard. It was so much fun. I don't think I have flown a kite since I was seven...it was so much fun. The kids loved it.

Tegan's Talent for Naming Cars

Something that is so amazing and I never want to forget is Tegan's talent for naming cars at 2 1/2 years old. It all started when we were on the Frontrunner going to see the Monster Truck Show and Teg looked out his window as the cars were driving along side of us on the freeway and said "Mom, look there's a Mustang" I leaned over him and looked out the window and sure enough, right next to us driving down the freeway was a 2010 green Mustang. The kid sitting across from us on the frontrunner was AMAZED. It was insane he was 2 1/2!! Ever since then everywhere we go, he will tell me if he sees certain cars.
One day we were coming home from the mall and I was driving down Wall Ave. and Tegan was just jabbering to me and then all the sudden he says "mom look there is a Camaro" I said "where Tegan" and he said "mom right in front of us" To me, it was just a black car in front of us, but I got in the other lane and started to pass this black car, and Tegan was right, it was a brand new Camaro. All he could see what the back end of the Camaro, how did he know that's what it was?? It's Amazing!!
There was another day that I was on a walk with my mom and I was pushing the boys in the stroller. We were just talking and walking down Fruitland Dr. and all the sudden Tegan hollars out, "Mom, don't hit that Charger" just as I was walking by I looked over and it definately was a charger parked on the side of the road.
He has got a huge talent that is for sure. I don't know if I should be proud of him or freaked out because I am going to have to start saving every penny I own, at this rate he is going to want a $30,000 car for his 16th birthday!! Ha Ha Cars that he knows and he tells me EVERYTIME he sees one are: mustangs, camaros, corvettes, GTO's, hummers, chargers, toyotas, nisans, BIG MONSTER TRUCKS (that is any full size truck) and if he doesn't know what they are he always says, "mom, what's that car" I am definately not an expert and up until now they were just white, black and red cars to me, but I am having to learn what they are becasue he wants to know when he sees them. Good thing daddy knows every car out there. Even when it's dark, Zac can tell me every car just by the head lights. I guess that's where Tegan gets it from!!

Tegan's First Trip to the Dentist

Tegan went to the dentist for the very first time. He did SO GOOD!! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it went so good. Tegan wasn't afraid at all and he did everything just like they asked him to do. We were so proud of him. It was so cute to see him sit in the big dentist chair, he looked so grown up. Good job buddy!!

Fishing in Hyrum

We took grandpa up to Hyrum for another day of fishing. Too bad this time wasn't as good as the last time. My grandpa caught a HUGE one and it even jumped up out of the water when he was reeling it in, but his reel wasn't working right when he was reeling it in and the line got all tangled up. By the time grandpa and Zac got it fixed the fish got off. It was still cool to see it jump up out of the water. It was a great spot to take the boys, there was a grassy area that they could run and play on. They were having fun finding the "fuzzy flowers" and blowing the "fuzzies" off of them. It was a fun day.

My new clubs

I am so excited. My mom and dad gave me these clubs for my birthday. I LOVE them!! I went golfing with Zac the next day and they are awesome!! Zac and I were talking while we were golfing about how much fun it would be to do tournaments together (when I get a little better of course). Golfing is definately something that we have enjoyed doing together. Thanks to Zac's patients and his great teaching skills I am improving. Now that I have purple clubs I am sure I will professional in no time. Ha ha!! Thanks mom and dad!!

Scott and Sandra's Wedding

Scott and Sandra are officially an eternal family. It was a beautiful day. As I was sitting listening to the ceremony in english and then in spanish, I was thinking how amazing it is that even though we speak two different languages we all share one thing...the blessings of the Gospel. I couldn't help but think of how great it is that the Gospel is all over the world, in many different languages, yet we all believe that same thing and enjoy the great blessings of the temple and eternal families. It's awesome!! I felt so blessed to look around the room and see our whole family (minus Krystal) in the temple. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family. Sandra is just one more great addition to the amazing family that I have.

We went to eat at Maddox for the wedding dinner and Kyson was ready to be done with the whole wedding day until they brought out our dessert and then he went wild. He grabbed two spoons and went to town. He was so excited, I mean, two spoons and snickers ice cream pie, what more could a 18 month old ask for.
