So I worked last night and when I got home I set my alarm for 8:30 (I get home about 6:00 am from work) so I could get the boys up and ready for school today. My alarm went off and I realized that Tegan was no longer next to me in my bed. I usually will stay in bed a minute when I wake up and see if I can hear what the boys are doing. I could hear the boys talking, but I wasn't sure what they were up to. This was the conversation I overheard....
Kyson: What's this
Tegan: Kyson, those aren't to play with, they will cut you
Kyson: What??
Tegan: See Ky, when I was a little kid I was playing with those and I got cut really bad (which is NOT true). See Ky, I got hurt real bad
Kyson: Oh OUCH Teg
So I walked around the corner to see what they were talking about. Both boys were sitting up on my stove and Tegan was trying to make his way to the treat cupboard while Kyson was sitting next to my knives. Good thing they are such good boys and stayed away from the knives. It seriously was so cute to hear them talk to each other.
After I dropped Tegan off at school I headed back home and Kyson fell asleep in the truck so I brought him inside and we both got to take a TWO hour nap, which NEVER happens (I even had to wake up Ky). The nap felt so good, but when I woke up I realized it was 12:05 and Teg gets out of school at 12:00 so I called my mom and asked her to get him from school (which is downstairs at Weber High) and told her I was on my way. When we got home from school Tegan was asking me what we did while he was in school and I told him we both took a nap, then I said, that's why we were a little late picking you up because we were sleeping. Then Tegan says to me, "Well, if you aren't going to be there to pick me up from school anymore, I guess I am just not going to be able to go anymore" : ) I just laughed so hard, so I guess I better not forget to pick him up anymore : ) Call me MOTHER OF THE YEAR, first my kids are teaching each other about knives and then I am late picking up Tegan, lets hope I am a better mommy tomorrow : (
