Boys Surgery

After watching Zac go through what he did with his tonsils we decided to try to get all the boys out while they are young. Tegan was the only one that didn't qualify.  The other three boys went in for surgery on December 20th.  We figured that was the best time since they were out of school and would have time to rest.  Everyone thought we were crazy for doing all three of them together but we figured if we were helping them recover we might as well be able to help them all at once :)

The surgical center was SO AMAZING.  They took Boden in first and when he was done they took Beckem.  I went over to recovery and sat with Boden until Kyson went in.  Once Kyson was back in surgery Zac came over in recovery to help me.  Once Boden woke up we moved him to a chair with Zac and I sat with Beckem on the bed.  Once Beckem woke up we did the same thing with Kyson.  It was pretty smooth.
The surgical center did such a good job with the boys.  They gave them these little stuffed animals before they went into surgery.  They did the boys IV when they were asleep in the OR, when they woke up their stuffed animals limb was wrapped just like theirs.  It was so cute!!  Those little extra things made a big difference. I LOVED our experience there.
Zac took Beck and Bo home while I stayed with Kyson because he had to have a breathing treatment and had to stay longer.  Grandma Rogers came and picked us up and took us home.  On the way home we stopped at Chic Fil A.  I asked Kyson if he wanted some fries and he said, no I want some nuggets.  I wasn't sure he would be able to eat them but I ordered some to see.  I handed him one and asked him to just try one and see how it felt. . . he ended up eating NINE nuggets on our way home.  When I got home Zac told me that Beck and Bo already ate two bowls of mac and cheese and three string cheeses each.  They were ROCKSTARS.  Boden went downstairs to play and he said, mom don't come down until I tell you to.  So, I waited for him to call me downstairs and this is what I found.  He said, "mom I cleaned up the whole toy room for you for your Christmas present" I told him that was the best Christmas present he could ever give me.  I couldn't believe that the day of surgery he was thinking of me and cleaning up.  He is so sweet!!

The boys did pretty good.  They had their ups and downs, but overall it went pretty smooth.  They are so tough!!
