So Blessed

I have been so excited for The Blind Side to come out on DVD because everyone said how good it was and since Zac and I hate going to the theaters, we were excited to see it at home. It finally came out yesterday and Zac went and rented it for us (I was sad it wasn't in Red Box because I love renting movies for FREE). After we put the kids to bed we had a little movie night, can I just say I LOVED this movie, it is definately one I want to buy to have in our home. If you haven't seen it I recommend renting it.

After the movie I just kept crying (I am way more emotional when I am tired and I worked the night before so maybe that's why I was KEPT crying but...) my heart just hurts so bad for all the children in the world that have to live certain ways and see certain things and they have no choice. I wish every child never had to see crime, drugs, or messed up parents make dumb choices!! Most of all I wish every child felt loved and comforted. I feel so blessed for the life I have been given. Once the movie was over I couldn't help it but go down to my room and get on my knees and thank Heavenly Father for all my blessings. Zac and I sat and talked forever last night and we just feel so lucky...we are SO BLESSED and I take it for granted so much!! I have two beautiful good boys, an amazing husband who is my best friend, awesome parents who raised me to love the Lord and the gospel, a nice house, a good job, I could go on and on but most of all I am surrounded by people who I love and they love me and what could be better than that!!

Families are Forever...

My mother is probably one of the strongest people I have ever met. A year ago today my Aunt LuAnn returned home to our Father in Heaven, this was my mom's only sister and she lost her only brother previously from complications of knee surgery. It was very unexpected. I can't even imagine losing all my siblings at such a young age, but my mom is so strong and is the rock of our family. I look up to her a lot. LuAnn was an amazing aunt, mother, sister, daughter, grandma and friend. Our family seems a little empty everytime we all get together. She had a laugh that just made you smile everytime you heard it. She was life of the party at our family get togethers. It is hard to have her gone and we miss her very much, but it is so comforting to know that we will see her again soon. I am so grateful for eternal families and the comfort the Lord gives us through our trials. We love you Aunt LuAnn and miss you a lot, thanks for the fun memories!!

Tegan and Kyson...

Kyson got another tooth this week and I pulled out the baby book to write it down and my heart sunk. I didn't write anything from two months on...so Kyson will never know when he took his first step, smiled for the first time, or said his first word. I was having a "worst mom ever" moment, Zac tried to make me feel better by telling me no one cares about their baby books, but deep down I do. So I figured since I keep up on our family blog I will just write about them every few months so we can go back and enjoy the different stages of life.

Tegan...you are such a good boy. You are such a big helper and you LOVE to help Ky Ky with everything. You are talking a LOT...thanks to your mom's genes, you can talk and talk. You love to make us laugh. Thanks for always making us smile....this is the perfect example, you just said hey mom and I looked over and this is what you were wearing. I started laughing so hard, you are so much fun!! We love you so much.
Kyson...you are so full of life. You also make us laugh all the time. You are starting to talk more and more. Words you say now are bah bah (your blanket is your favorite), dad, momma (you don't say this word very often), num nums (which means any kind of food), Boba, Bye, Thank you, and hi. I think there are some other ones, but those are the main words you use. You have learned to just grunt to get everything you want, we are working on trying to get you to ask for things, but grunting is working, so why talk right. You are an explorer, you love to get into things and try things out. You love to help clean up. You are VERY INDEPENDENT and like to feel like you are big. You are definitely a daddy's boy. If dad's around you love to be right by his side. Boys, I love watching you guys play, you are the best of friends. Thanks for making us laugh everyday and making life worth living!! I will try to be a better mom and keep track of your developments, but no promises sorry, I forget sometimes. Thanks for being such good boys!! We love you very much!!

Our five years, a glimse of eternity....

On our honeymoon we made a deal with each other that for every anniversary we would go to a new state, so on our 50th wedding anniversary we could say we have seen all the United States together, unfortunately this year we weren't able to go on a trip on our anniversary because of Zac's school and money being tight, but hopefully when Zac graduates we will plan a fun trip somewhere for our anniversary trip.

Last night felt like I was living in a fairytale....We decided to make the night special and get dressed up and go out. Thanks to Jordynne, I was able to use one of her GORGEOUS dresses and feel like a princess for a night. It was cute, Zac told me to go up to my mom's and get ready while him and the boys went and washed the truck, then they came and picked me up in a nice clean truck just like we were dating all over again. It was so much fun. We went to the Roof Restaurant for dinner and then went and spent the night up in our condo at Wolf Creek. The whole night was perfect!!

Babe, thanks for making the past five years so wonderful and amazing. I am so excited to spend the rest of eternity with my best friend. Happy Anniversary!! I LOVE YOU!!

I even had my glass slippers....

Family Ski Day

Our family ski day has always been one of my favorite days. We have always had a tradition (usually on President's Day, but this year our schedules conflicted so we had to pick another day) to all go skiing together. This has always been such a fun time to spend time with my family and do something I love, what could be better. We had the chance to go up today, we missed Scott and Krystal, but it was fun to get out and ski again. Thanks dad for the great day and the fun tradition!! Thanks to Justin and Nicole's mad camera skills I learned you can fit five adults in a picture even if you have to take it yourselfZac and Justin had fun trying new tricksJustin really was having fun even though he looks onery in this picture

A little glimse of Heaven...

Last night was one of my favorite nights and something that I want to remember forever. We took Tegan down to see the Monster Jam. About two weeks ago Zac told him we were going down to see Gravedigger and everyday since then he would wake up and ask "mom, I go see gravedigger today??" I finally told him, we need to have daddy's birthday and then a couple days later we will go see him...so on Zac's birthday, the minute Zac walked in the door from school Tegan hurried and sung the first line of Happy Birthday as fast as he could and then looked at me and said "I go to monster trucks now??" It was so sweet. Poor kid couldn't understand why he had to wait so long. The day finally came and we went to see gravedigger. We rode the frontrunner down and Tegan LOVED the BIG TRAIN!! Then we went and saw the crazy monster trucks. Tegan was in AWW the WHOLE TIME!! I LOVED watching him get so excited. I just kept thinking that this is what makes being a parent so amazing. I loved watching him get so excited and be so happy!! It was such a fun night. We were sad that Kyson couldn't come this year because it was so loud, but I can't wait to take both of them next year. Tegan's first train ride...

Tegan calling Mamma and telling her all about it...

And this is what happens when you make a 2 1/2 year old wait 45 minutes for the frontrunner to leave...I LOVE kids!!

Happy 27th Birthday Babe!!

Tuesday was Zac's birthday. He went to his first class at school and then came home to play with us. We went and ran some errands and went Red Lobster for lunch/dinner. It was so YUMMY!! We LOVE that place. After we ate, we came back home and relaxed and our parents and Grandma and Grandpa Thomas came over later on. I attempted a doulble layer red-velvet cake, but I didn't whip the shortening nearly long enough for the frosting did not turn out. It was a pretty pathetic cake, sorry babe!! I hope you had a good birthday. Thanks for being such an amazing dad, husband and my best friend!! We are so proud of you and WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!
